I don't know about you, but my characters tend to "race" around everywhere. Sally raced to the car. John raced to her side. They raced into a hot embrace. You get the picture (though kidding on the last one). So today I'm being super selfish and listing synonyms for "race" as that is one of my overused verbs. What are some of yours?

Have a great weekend!!
I like rustle and whisk especially :)
ReplyDeleteOverused verbs? Definitely "turned" and "looked." Yikes, boring!
ReplyDeleteJust wandered over from the QT forum, and I love this blog background! I'm not quite sure which words I overuse, but I definitely overuse hand motions during dialogue. Characters constantly pick at loose threads on their clothes, knead their hands together, wipe hair from their faces, and tap things while they talk. It's a little ridiculous. ;)
