Books you didn't expect to like

I thought it would be fun to list a few books that either are outside our preferred genre, or just didn't appear to be our taste, that we ended up loving. It's amazing how sure we are of certain books, only to dive in and have them change our mind. I love when this happens. And I really love when those books become favorites.

So here's a list of 5 books I wasn't 100% sure I'd like and ended up loving:

  1. The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters
  2. Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
  3. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
  4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
  5. Angelfall by Susan Ee
Now share some of yours!

  1. I loved Libba Bray's book too! And another one I didn't expect to like much but really did was the Fever series by KM Moning (adult)

  2. I loved Catching Jordan, too!! My biggest 'wow, didn't think I'd love this SO much' was Unearthly by Cynthia Hand!

  3. J.K. -- I haven't read the fever series, but I'm googling it. :) And yes, I am now a major Libba Bray fan.

Laura -- I downloaded Unearthly last week. I'll start it as soon as I finish what I'm reading now. Can't wait!

  4. Angelfall was awesome and way surpassed my expectations! I haven't read any of the others on your list but the are on my TBR pile.

  5. Angelfall was a weird one for me. On one hand I wasn't sure I would like it as I've only managed to enjoy a small handful of angel books in the past. But on the other hand, EVERYONE who I knew had read this had nothing but amazing things to say about it so I was hopeful I would love it, too. :)
