When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.

How would your heroine describe your hero when she first meets him?:
“I was, um, a little impaired at the time. I’m on my way home and this guy comes literally tripping out of the woods. He face plants by the water’s edge, all bare foot and bleeding… It was weird. But I could tell he was scared, and something about the way he looked at me made me want to help him. It had nothing to do with the fact that the guy was gorgeous. Really.”
.
How would your hero describe your heroine when he first meets her?:
“Dez was…different. I didn’t know what to think of her. She helped—gave me her shoes and got rid of the Denazen agents while I hid—and that was a new experience for me. I decided to trust her. It was a good decision.”

Author Talk
.
Why do you write in the genre you write?:
Because I love it. There are so many firsts in YA, and so many strong emotions that go with them. It’s just so much fun!
.
What other genres would you consider and why?:
I’ve always been a fan of thriller/suspense, and I have a few ideas bouncing around, but nothing in the immediate future.
.
Can you give us a hint of something else you’re working on?:
Well, between the third book in the Denazen series, and the novella set to release just before it, I’ve been working on a super secret project. It’s YA paranormal, but that’s about all I can say. More news soon, though!
